Having been in commercial banking most of my working life and with redundancy looming I started to research Oven Cleaning as a new venture. I was looking for something that gave me flexibility that gave me a better work/life balance.

How successful can I be when I start an oven cleaning business?
Just like any other business, if you are prepared to put the effort in to make it successful, then it will be. A profitable business is the ultimate goal, and for that, you need a solid arsenal of preparation, knowledge, and marketing. Running your own business is not necessarily for everyone. There is certainly an element of self-motivation and dedication required, especially at the beginning while you get things going. However, once people get to know you and are happy with the service you provide, they will come back and recommend you to their friends and family.
This is due to the very nature of oven cleaning: it is a highly repeatable business. Oven cleaning is not something that a weekly household clean can achieve to a professional standard, and it is normally one of those household jobs that gets forgotten. Because ovens are used daily, you will find that customers come back to you for another clean—sometimes twice a year or more.

Can I start an oven cleaning business gradually while working 9-5?
Absolutely! If you want to transition out of your current role, or if you have decided to take an early retirement but wish to do it gradually, this is a great option.
